What are the ACL and Meniscus injuries?

The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), it is one of the four primary ligaments in the knee. The anterior cruciate ligament is responsible for avoiding the shinbone from sliding forward and connects the front of the shinbone to the back of the thighbone.

Most ACL injuries are literally non-contact injuries. ACL injuries are most common in the knee.

The meniscus is articular cartilage in the knee joint that acts as a shock safeguard for the knee. Injuries to the meniscus can be the result of a direct blow to the knee, such as a traumatic injury or from degeneration.

  • Restricted range of motion.
